Mr. Karma Phuntshok serves as one of the eight Board Directors of the Tshokey Dorji Foundation (TDF), where he supports the Foundation’s mission to preserve and promote the teachings of Buddha Dharma. With a focus on community development and the preservation of Bhutan’s monastic traditions, Mr. Phuntshok contributes to various initiatives that aim to foster sustainable growth and align with Buddhist values such as compassion, mindfulness, and social responsibility. With over 40 years of experience in the insurance sector, Mr. Phuntshok has gained extensive expertise in leadership, administration, and risk management. Since 2009, he has served as the General Manager and Branch Head of Bhutan Insurance Limited in Phuentsholing, overseeing branch operations and ensuring regulatory compliance. Prior to this, he spent 26 years at the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan (RICB), where he held a variety of managerial roles, strengthening his skills in credit, investment and administration, and organizational leadership.
